About My Clients
Uncertainty about career choices, evolving relationships, taking on new familial roles, and living with chronic illness often leads to depression, anxiety, anger and profound sense of helplessness. I understand how overwhelming these feelings can be, sometimes even paralyzing. In our work, we move through these struggles together, with compassion, separating facts of our experiences from unhelpful thought patterns. It's a partnership, aiming to restore a sense of control, resilience and hope.
My Background and Approach
Therapy is a collaborative experience. Once a trusting rapport is established, we follow the pace, timeline, and goals you have determined to be comfortable. Experiencing healthier reactions to a previously triggering event is a liberating life event. As goals are accomplished, clients feel more competent and courageous to expand their comfort zone. Relief and hope replace the angst, most clients struggle with.
My Personal Beliefs and Interests
I strongly believe that therapy is the greatest gift we can give ourselves. Within a caring and supportive therapeutic relationship, we're given the space to peel away layers of hurt, unhelpful thinking and coping strategies that once served a purpose but no longer work for us. Old wounds, mistrust and outdated beliefs can be explored without fear of judgement. Therapy offers a corrective emotional experience, a space to explore the stories we've told ourselves to justify mistreatment, misunderstand our worth or explain away patterns that keep us stuck. Nothing about our emotional or psychological experience is written in stone. Therapy can help us reshape how we see ourselves and the world, leading to meaningful and lasting change. I know this not just as a therapist, but as someone who has experienced profound shifts in self-perception, parenting, relationships and the way I respond to my own thoughts. Recognizing the strides I made, is my inspiration to help you create the same.
