About My Clients
Mrs. Higgins works with adults and couples. Many clients come in when they are struggling with personal, relational, or professional issues. Primarily clients battles with anxiety, depression, family of origin issues, domestic violence, grief and loss, trauma and recovery maintenance. Clients work on developing their self-determination, empowerment while improving their insight, judgment, and perception. You’ll build your self-esteem and see yourself and your inherent value in a new light.
My Background and Approach
I have a Master’s in social work and Bachelor’s in social work and criminal justice from Florida Atlantic University with a focus on children and families. I have worked in the school setting, community mental health, substance abuse and recovery agencies, and the criminal justice system. I’m trained in working with trauma, as well as family issues. I use multiple evidence-based therapeutic modalities. I have an eclectic, holistic and empowering style. When a client first comes in, the most important thing for me is to establish a safe and trustworthy environment, where you can feel a sense of security. I’m dedicated to providing a relationship that is professional, intimate, empowering, respectful and trustworthy.
