Are you stressed out and overwhelmed? Struggling with relationship issues or life transitions? I am here to help you find lasting solutions.
Psychologist in Boulder, CO
I am trained in Hakomi, a mindfulness-based, experiential approach to therapy. Often, patterns and beliefs that we are not even aware of are getting in the way of living the life we want. By slowing down in our therapy sessions, and paying attention to your experiences as they occur in the moment, I can help you become aware of these patterns and beliefs. Together, we can explore and transform these patterns, to allow you to live a fuller, more satisfying life.
I am a certified Somatic Experiencing Practitioner. Somatic Experiencing (SE) is a biological, body-based approach to resolving trauma and stress. Imprints of overwhelming experiences are often held in the body. Using SE, I can help you release these imprints gently and process traumatic experiences that are often not accessible to conventional talk therapy alone. This allows you a wider range of responses to the life around you and frees a sense of choice, freedom and joy.
I am certified in person-centered expressive arts therapy through Dr. Natalie Rogers at Saybrook University, and in movement-based expressive arts through Tamalpa Institute. Sometimes words are not enough to express what's happening or what you are feeling. Expressive arts include the whole person. By activating right-brain processes, they let you not only communicate what words cannot, but also tap into the natural wisdom of your body and free its ability to heal.
Do you feel stressed out or overwhelmed? Are you frequently anxious or depressed? Trauma and difficult experiences are often held in the body. I use Somatic Experiencing, a biological, body-based approach to help you release these imprints gently. Processing these experiences in a way your nervous system can digest increases your resilience, and creates a sense of joy, choice and freedom in your life.
Does it feel like no matter how hard your try, your relationships aren't satisfying? Often, our early childhood experiences with caregivers leave imprints that shape our thoughts and beliefs in ways we are not even aware of. Using Hakomi, a mindfulness-based, experiential approach to therapy, I can help you explore and transform these patterns so you can get what you want in your relationships, whether with romantic partners, friends or family members.
Are you struggling with a major life transition? Relationship break-ups, the loss of a loved one or a job, moving to a new town, or being diagnosed with an illness are all changes that can affect us deeply. Often, skills we have developed to cope no longer work. By holding space if you need to grieve losses, support you to explore behavior patterns that may be in your way, or brainstorm solutions to problems, I can help you let go of what was lost, and develop new perspectives for your life.
