About My Clients
I am passionate about working with individuals seeking to process and heal from complex trauma whether that is from childhood abuse, abusive relationships, traumatic grief, or a difficult past with your family of origin. I am also passionate about working with adults who suspect they are neurodivergent or have a new diagnosis of ADHD. I want to help you build compassion for yourself and guide you on ways to regulate your emotions.
My Background and Approach
I utilize a combination of approaches and aim to work alongside my clients in their healing processes. I am trained and certified in EMDR (Eye-Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing) and utilize this modality with most clients. I also use solution-focused strategies to help clients manage their daily lives and feel more in control of their environments. I have a direct and compassionate approach to therapy and am ready to work with clients who are eager to explore and understand themselves.
My Personal Beliefs and Interests
I worked for non-profit agencies for 10 years prior to opening my own practice. I am passionate about accessible care and understanding my client's backgrounds, even when they differ from my own. I am a parent of a toddler and work with many parents also in this stage of life. I believe parents of young children need extra care and support and to have community around them. I also have ADHD (diagnosed as an adult), anxiety, and a family history of mental illness. Through EMDR therapy, I was able to process many of my own childhood experiences and lower my overall anxiety. Through my diagnosis of ADHD, I have learned skills that have helped me manage my symptoms and have become familiar with recognizing symptoms and helped myself and my neurodivergent clients build compassion towards themselves.
