About My Clients
I have a range of tools and techniques to guide productive conversations, overcome personal barriers, and reduce emotional suffering. I specifically enjoy working with individuals who are feeling stuck and craving personal growth. Through a safe and comfortable therapeutic relationship, my hope is that you can experience joy and fulfillment in your life.
My Background and Approach
I earned my Master's degree in Marriage and Family Therapy from the University of San Diego, and completed my training at UC San Diego Department of Family Medicine. After 3 years with UC San Diego, I transitioned to work in a group therapy practice, and am now working independently. Much of my clinical work pulls from Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Narrative Therapy, and Solution Focused Therapy. While I orient myself to certain therapeutic approaches, I ultimately find myself incorporating various approaches to meet the needs of my clients.
My Personal Beliefs and Interests
Life is not meant to be navigated in isolation and I believe that everyone deserves to have a person in their life who can listen, support, and encourage. I believe that we all have strengths and by accessing our strengths we can reach our full potential and create a life of meaning and purpose. I view therapy as a space for individuals to reflect, grow, and change and I see my role as a guide in the process. I welcome clients from all races, gender identities, cultures, religions, classes, abilities, countries of origin, sexual orientations, relationship types, and body types. When I am not meeting with clients, I enjoy cooking, backpacking, playing tennis and spending time with family.
