About My Clients
I have worked in a variety of settings and with adult, adolescents, and children. I have a wide array of experience and specialize in relationships, trauma, and many mental health disorders. Clients often say they like my "down to earth" personality and say I am easy going. I attempt to use humor when appropriate and believe the therapeutic relationship is extremely important.
My Background and Approach
I have completed a Doctorate in Counselor Education and Supervision. I have been a supervisor in the field for may years and have also been a college professor to master level counselors. I do not believe one approach works for every person. I believe each person is an individual with their own needs and work hard to find the right approach to match their individuality. I have made sure I am well versed in my approaches. I have had externships, trainings and certifications in Trauma models, Solution Focused Brief Therapy, Family and Couples family as well as many other approaches.
My Personal Beliefs and Interests
I believe that people have the ability to make the necessary changes to make their lives better, but sometimes it is nice to have support and expertise to assist. I am LGBTQ welcoming and educated. I respect all individual uniqueness. I am respectful of every person's personal experience.
