About My Clients
My focus is on "Life Change Counseling" whether it's a new job, a new relationship (or the end of one), the illness or death of a loved one, or simply wanting to embrace a different, more empowered lifestyle for yourself. I love helping people grow and thrive. I have supported many clients as they adjust to the loss of someone important in their lives and help them learn how to feel secure enough to blossom into their best self.
My Background and Approach
I am client focused and strength-based in my approach. I have a Masters in Sociology and a Masters in Mental Health Counseling. I have worked in many different fields and agencies including foster care, mental health day treatment and residential, substance abuse treatment, hospice and counseling agencies. I am now in private practice and am able to utilize my education, life experience and employment experience to help others deal with the challenges and opportunities that life presents.
My Personal Beliefs and Interests
I believe in positive psychology and the law of attraction in helping manifest the life you wish to live. I am open to working with others who are spiritual as I believe we are a spiritual being experiencing a lifetime in a human body. Counseling can include a belief system if the client choses this approach. I am a metaphysician (this option was not listed on this site!) I take a strength-based approach when helping clients navigate life's challenges. My ethnicity is "white" see below. haha! What my "color" does not show is that I am first generation American born. My parents immigrated to the USA when they were 20 yo from Northern Ireland. I also understand what it is like to advocate for a family member with a life-limiting chronic disability and having to deal with the stereotyping, ignorance and caregiving that goes along with this condition.
