I provide therapy for a wide range of mental health conditions, including anxiety, depression, OCD, trauma, LGBTQ identity challenges, and couples therapy. My Background and Approach
I have a compassionate yet evidence-based approach to help you meet the goals that are most important to you. I believe in being attentive and present with my clients to better understand the thoughts, feelings, and behaviors that have led them to me. I am warm and genuine and like to focus on building rapport before problem-solving. It is the therapeutic relationship that will allow the client to move forward in a safe and meaningful way. I use an eclectic approach but often find myself defaulting to humanist theories and dialectical behavioral therapy. Self-discovery and the work we do in therapy aren't always about achieving or "self-improvement." However, you're probably exploring counseling with some goals in mind - finding healthy ways to cope with stress, relieving tensions in relationships, or perhaps learning to live and function after the loss of a loved one.
My Personal Beliefs and Interests
I think I was born curious, I am at any given time pondering the why of something... Why do birds sit on street signs? Why does the air smell better after it storms? That curiosity led me to wanting to know why people do the things they do, why they think the things they think. That led me to a career I love, being a therapist. I understand that the problems you bring to me are significant to you and I will treat them that way. I will honor that you are ready to try on what healing might feel like. We will go at your pace. What matters to you, matters to me.
