About My Clients
I have experience helping clients with childhood, relational, and/or sexual trauma; personality disorders; depression & anxiety; life transitions; relationship & intimacy problems; skin-picking & hair-pulling disorder; self-harm; and gender- & sexual-identity concerns. In providing therapy to relationship structures, I have experience with treating emotional disconnection, communication and conflict, sex therapy, infidelity & betrayal, opening up or closing down, and relationship uncertainty.
My Background and Approach
I believe therapy should feel like more than talking about your life - it should help you experience yourself and your relationships in a new way. I see my role as a guide and collaborator. I try to create a space where you can be honest, curious, and vulnerable without feeling judged or ashamed. My work is deeply relational, and I'm especially drawn to individuals and couples who have felt misunderstood, out of place, or poorly served by traditional mental health spaces. Common approaches: Emotionally focused couples therapy (EFCT), sex therapy, dialectical behavioral therapy (DBT), mentalization-based therapy (MBT), schema therapy, and cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT).
My Personal Beliefs and Interests
In my work, I strive to be intentional and accountable to six commitments: (1) Humanity. No label, past action, hurt, or shame strips you of your humanity. (2) Safety. I recognize the power I hold as a therapist and work to create space where you can unmask and take emotional risks. (3) Inclusion. I honor your values, identities, culture, and lived experiences, welcoming people across differences in race, religion, gender, sexuality, age, and relationship structure. (4) Collaboration. Trust requires transparency, shared decisions, and room for your voice. (5) Repair. I will sometimes get things wrong. I welcome feedback and opportunities to acknowledge mistakes, learn, and repair. (6) Self-determination. You direct your treatment. My role is to guide and support your journey toward growth and healthy interdependence.
