About My Clients
You may be the person everyone depends on, yet privately you're struggling. Maybe you're battling anxiety, relationship difficulties, addiction, past experiences, or feeling stuck in patterns you can't seem to break. I work with adults, especially men, who are ready to understand what's beneath their struggles and make meaningful changes. You don't have to have everything figured out. Together, we'll have honest conversations, uncover patterns, develop practical strategies, and turn insight into
My Background and Approach
I'm Wuzu, a Licensed Professional Counselor-Associate (LPC-Associate) and Licensed Chemical Dependency Counselor (LCDC). My background as a U.S. Army combat veteran, former educator, and mentor has given me a unique perspective on resilience, relationships, personal responsibility, and the challenges of navigating life's transitions. My approach is compassionate, honest, and practical. I believe meaningful change requires more than simply talking about problems. Together, we'll explore the experiences, emotions, and beliefs shaping your behavior, identify patterns keeping you stuck, and develop strategies to move forward. I draw from Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), Motivational Interviewing, and other evidence-based approaches. I'll listen without judgment, challenge you when appropriate, and help you turn insight into meaningful action beyond our sessions.
My Personal Beliefs and Interests
I believe our past can explain who we've become, but it doesn't have to determine who we become next. My life experiences have taught me that strength isn't about having everything figured out. Sometimes, it's having the courage to acknowledge what isn't working and the willingness to do something different. As a husband, father, veteran, mentor, and man of Christian faith, I value integrity, accountability, compassion, personal growth, and service to others. I believe people deserve to be understood without being judged and challenged without being condemned. Outside of counseling, I enjoy fitness, mentoring young men, studying human behavior, and helping others discover their potential. My personal faith shapes my values, but I respect each client's beliefs and worldview. Whether faith is important to you or not, our work will focus on your goals, values, and what matters most to you.
