About My Clients
My clients come from all walks of life, but they share a common goal: a desire to better understand themselves and improve their overall well-being. Many are navigating stress, health-related challenges, or difficult life transitions. Others are seeking support in managing anxiety, chronic pain, or patterns of behavior that no longer serve them. Whether they are new to therapy or returning to it, my clients are ready to take meaningful steps toward healthier, more balanced lives.
My Background and Approach
I have more than 30 years of experience helping individuals make meaningful, lasting changes in their lives. As a Washington native, my roots in this community run deep, and so does my commitment to providing compassionate, evidence-based behavioral treatment. I earned my degrees from the University of Washington and the University of Oregon, and completed my clinical internship at the American Lake VA Medical Center. I am also certified by the National Register of Health Service Psychologists and the American Board of Medical Psychotherapists. I use a Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) approach, which focuses on the powerful connection between thoughts, emotions, and behaviors. Many of the challenges people face—such as anxiety, stress, chronic pain, or unhelpful behavior patterns—are shaped by the ways we interpret situations and respond to them. CBT helps clients identify these patterns, understand where they come from, and learn practical skills to change them.
My Personal Beliefs and Interests
In my work, CBT is not a one-size-fits-all method. I tailor it to each client’s unique history, goals, and strengths. Together, we clarify what’s getting in the way, build awareness of automatic thoughts and reactions, and develop healthier strategies that create real, measurable improvement. This often includes structured exercises, skill-building, and tools clients can use both inside and outside of sessions. CBT is collaborative, active, and grounded in scientific research. Many clients appreciate that it provides clear direction, useful techniques, and a sense of progress. Whether someone is managing stress, improving coping skills, or working toward personal goals, CBT offers a framework that supports meaningful and lasting change. My approach is grounded in respect, collaboration, and proven therapeutic methods. Whether you’re seeking support for stress, health concerns, or personal growth, I’m here to help you navigate the process with care and expertise.
