About My Clients
I welcome all clients, and specialize in working with BIPOC adults, particularly those struggling with racial identity, anxiety, depression, life transitions, trauma, compassion fatigue, and burnout. As a child of immigrants, I also specialize in working with those who may be navigating cross-cultural and cross-generational barriers within themselves and their family. At the core of my practice is holistic awareness and trauma-informed care.
My Background and Approach
As a second generation immigrant, I understand the feeling of not belonging completely as well as the liberation that comes with loving oneself, feeling aligned in one's values, and engaging in community healing. My approach is grounded in compassion, collaboration, intersectionality, and anti-oppression. I draw from a range of modalities including Systems Theory, Narrative Therapy, Mindfulness, and Attachment Theory. Prior to working as a therapist, my first career was in computer science and I've navigated the challenge that comes with a large career transition. I have since worked at the National Suicide Prevention Hotline, engaged in crisis response work, and will be graduating with my Masters in Clinical Social Work from the University of Washington in June of 2024.
My Personal Beliefs and Interests
I believe that everyone can change and grow at any time in their lives. My work with clients often examines the broader systems we exist in, the beliefs we may have unconsciously internalized from those systems whether that's family, institutions, or broader society. Through examining our own thoughts and actions with a non-judgmental curious mind, we can find that we often already hold the answers we may be trying to seek. I look forward to holding space for you and consider it an honor to be a part of your healing journey.
