About My Clients
In a comfortable and supportive setting, I offer a highly personalized approach tailored to each of my clients individual needs to help attain the personal growth they’re striving for, to solve a wide range of issues. My Background and Approach
With 40 years of counseling experience I have worked with all kinds of clients . I am primarily a short-term counselor working with clients for 5-8 sessions on the average. Then usually they feel they have gotten what they need and choose to try on their own, knowing they are welcome to come back at any time. There are some clients who need more and I am there to help for however long it is they need. I will also work with them and their physician should they require medication. I offer 90 minute session for less than most therapists charge for the standard 50 minute therapy session. My office is in a quiet neighborhood looking out on a peaceful lake. I use a variety of therapy approaches including: Cognitive Behavioral Therapy , Adlerian child therapy, Rational Emotive therapy, Behavior modification, Anger management, DBT for borderlines, Solution Focused Therapy. The primary treatment is to listen to what YOU are seeking to accomplish and helping YOU to achieve it.
My Personal Beliefs and Interests
I believe most people want to do well, be helpful to family and friends, be successful in a job or volunteer position where they feel successful and meaningful. Unfortunately, we all meet up with adversity. sometimes it is in our early life growing up. Other times with school or work mates who do not get along with them, sometimes it is the loss of a meaningful person in their lives, or perhaps a traumatic incident that scares them resulting in anxiety, depression, or anger. I believe all of these can be faced up to and overcome, with courage and determination and help from a caring person, sometimes in their family and at other times with the help of an experienced therapist.
