About My Clients
I support individuals and couples managing depression, anxiety, trauma, sexual functioning issues, sexuality concerns, and more. I support both straight and LGBTQ+ individuals and both monogamous and nonmonogamous relationships. I offer premarital counseling and can support partners recovering from infidelity. I use Emotionally Focused Therapy, Gottman Method, ACT, and EMDR techniques.
My Background and Approach
I am a psychodynamic therapist, which means that I pay attention to what is happening both in the front and the back of our minds—what we are consciously doing and how we are acting on our unconscious beliefs. This also means that attachment theory, which focuses on the roots of the way that we connect to each other and how that style of connecting plays out in our adult relationships, is a big influence on my approach to therapy. I integrate polyvagal theory to help clients understand the role their nervous system plays in individual and relationship distress. I practice Emotionally Focused Individual and Couples Therapy to help my clients regain and strengthen their connections to themselves and their partners. I also utilize Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR) therapy to support clients navigating Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD) and complex/developmental trauma.
My Personal Beliefs and Interests
I believe growth happens in relationships, whether platonic, romantic, or therapeutic. I also believe that all people of all identities have inherent worth and deserve to be valued for who they are, including those of us with marginalized identities. Our various identities aren’t the entirety of any of us, but they matter. Whether or not you share one of those marginalized identities, you are welcome here, and I am excited to work with you.
