About My Clients
We work with children, adolescents, adults, and couples facing anxiety, OCD, depression, and other life challenges. Clients often come to us for help with excessive worry, panic, phobias, social anxiety, intrusive thoughts and compulsions, insomnia, ADHD, relationship concerns, and health-related issues. We provide practical, evidence-based treatment tailored to each client, with the goal of helping people feel better and develop skills they can continue using long after therapy ends.
My Background and Approach
The Hudson Valley Center for Cognitive Therapy is a specialty practice of doctoral-level psychologists providing evidence-based care since 2001. Our founder and director received specialized training at the Center for Cognitive Therapy at the University of Pennsylvania, and our psychologists have advanced training in cognitive and behavioral therapies. CBT is the foundation of our practice, with specialized approaches including Exposure and Response Prevention (ERP) for OCD, exposure therapy for anxiety and phobias, and other evidence-based behavioral interventions. We work collaboratively with children, adolescents, adults, and couples, tailoring treatment to each client's needs. Our approach is active, practical, and skills-focused. We want clients not only to feel better, but to develop tools they can continue using independently long after therapy ends.
My Personal Beliefs and Interests
We believe that the way people think about themselves, their experiences, and the world around them can have a powerful influence on how they feel and behave. A core part of our approach is helping clients recognize unhelpful patterns of thinking, develop more balanced and effective perspectives, and make meaningful behavioral changes. We treat every client with respect for their individual differences, experiences, values, and goals. Therapy is collaborative and tailored to the individual, with an emphasis on practical skills clients can continue using long after treatment ends.
