About My Clients
Are you struggling with accepting your body as it is? Maybe you're missing out on life because you can't be present with your friends and family. You may be fed up with counting calories, constantly weighing yourself, and feeling too tired to do the things you enjoy. You might not even remember a time when things didn’t feel this way. But one thing is for sure: you’re ready for some relief. You’re ready to eat food without guilt. You’re ready to find joy in your life again.
My Background and Approach
I work with LGBTQ adults and teens who are struggling with eating disorders and want a therapist who gets both sides. Most eating disorder treatment is cis/heteronormative, so queer and trans clients feel misunderstood or left out. We'll use art therapy, IFS, and practical tools to get to the root of your struggles while managing life outside of the therapy room. Weight inclusive care and Health at Every Size are values that guide my practice. That means I celebrate size diversity and won't focus on weight loss as a therapy approach. Together, we'll explore how systems and societal pressures have impacted the way you feel in your body. Learn more about how I work by visiting my website. I support LGBTQ and transgender individuals with training and certifications in art therapy, eating disorders, intuitive eating, Internal Family Systems and Exposure/ Response Prevention. My Personal Beliefs and Interests
As a LGBTQ affirming therapist with over 15 years of practice, I believe that queer and trans people can find joy and self-acceptance, even in a cis/heteronormative society. As a queer therapist who's been on the journey, finding peace with food is possible. It doesn't need to be perfect and you get to define what recovery looks like for you. You don’t have to keep feeling like your body is wrong or broken, and you don’t have to do it alone. Email me today for a 20 minute free phone consultation. I can't wait to hear from you
