About My Clients
Are you someone who is self-aware but still cannot stop repeating patterns you know are not good for you? Or are there times when you feel anxious or sad but aren't quite sure why? I know how incredibly frustrating that can be. So often we are disconnected from ourselves without even knowing it. I am here to help you reconnect with and be your true self.
My Background and Approach
I am a Licensed Clinical Social Worker (Associate) in MA, NC, and RI. I have been in the mental health field for 15 years supporting children, adults, and families. My approach to therapy is culturally sensitive, intersectional, and trauma informed. I utilize an eclectic approach tailoring interventions to the unique needs of each clients. I prioritize the mind-body connection and ensure that treatment is holistic. I primarily pull from the modalities Dialectical Behavioral Therapy (DBT) and Internal Family Systems (IFS). I believe that clients are the experts on their lives, and I am here to support you with identifying your goals. Therapy should be collaborative, while also being gently challenging. I ensure my clients build the skills they need to be successful both in and out of therapy. I know that each and every client is capable of achieving their goals, and I look forward to supporting you with yours.
My Personal Beliefs and Interests
I am a white, pansexual, neurodiverse, cisgender woman. I'm a therapist who is fiercely anti-capitalist, anti-racist, LGBTQ+ affirming, and committed to social justice work. I am involved with several organizations and also use my writing to create opinion editorials with a call to action. I am heavily focused on fighting for LGBTQ+ rights and creating a safe, non-judgmental space within therapy. I did not come out until later in life and truly understand the need for a space where you can be your authentic self. I am passionate about advocating for changes within the mental health system as well. Not only have I had 15 years of professional experience in the mental health field, I have had my own personal experience with a mood disorder that I have had to navigate since college. I believe that every person deserves the opportunity to heal without judgment or barriers.
