About My Clients
You have had to neglect a part of yourself in order to belong, be accepted, or survive. You are exhausted from self-blame and striving to achieve and be perfect. You feel sad, scared, and alone related to perceived failures, shortcomings, or losses (personal or professional). If this describes you, I can help! I work with artists, creatives, professionals, entrepreneurs, LGBTQIA folx, and survivors of religious trauma who struggle with concerns of core identity and life purpose.
My Background and Approach
With a decade plus in the music industry, as well as having to navigate conservative religion as an LGBTQ-identifying person, I know what it’s like to grapple with the stress of a career hustle in addition to life’s big questions. Many of my clients find themselves stuck in patterns of negative self-assessment, imposter syndrome, self-doubt, and self-sabotage. They are wanting a life that feels authentic, connected, and full of joy. They are ready to find and turn up the volume on their inner advocate. I take an integrative approach, drawing on psychodynamic, person-centered, and trauma-informed orientations to help my clients navigate through their blockages. Though alleviating pain and discomfort in the short-term is important, I believe that lasting transformation comes from the deeper work of self awareness and personal insight. I know that it takes courage to seek help. Reach out and schedule your free 15-minute phone consultation today.
My Personal Beliefs and Interests
Finding a therapist who is a good fit for you is extremely important in you being able to do the work you need to do in therapy. Together we can begin to reshape how you understand yourself and the world, and help you find your voice and your way forward. I believe that ultimately you are the expert on you. My role is to help you develop inner awareness, heal your relationship with yourself, and ultimately help you develop your own internal therapeutic voice. When not doing therapy, I enjoy writing and recording music, cooking, anything to do with plants and gardening, and immersing myself in countries and cultures across the globe. As a native San Diegan, I appreciate our year round temperate weather and am often walking at the beach hoping to spot a dolphin or two. After a number of years in the Midwest for schooling, I convinced my wife to move back to California with me, where we now call San Diego home.
