About My Clients
I love to work with Adolescents and Adults who are struggling with anxiety, attachment issues, and trauma. Specifically, I work with Individuals who are looking to shift negative thoughts and beliefs and find freedom from traumatic experiences. I also have particular experience working with Adoptees and Gifted Individuals.
My Background and Approach
I earned my Undergraduate degree in Psychology from Illinois Wesleyan University, and then went on to earn my Master of Arts in Social Work from the University of Chicago. . Most recently, I worked with families formed through adoption for ten years with a focus on Adoptees with behavioral and emotional issues, depression, anxiety, trauma, attachment difficulties, identity issues, grief and loss, and parent support. I have provided clinical supervision for six years and find a lot of joy in helping new Clinicians hone their skills. I have life long experience within the Gifted Community as I was identified as Gifted at a young age and have been participating in and providing services ever since. I am a trained in EMDR, a Trust-Based Relational Intervention® (TBRI®) Practitioner, and have formal training in Level 1 Theraplay®
My Personal Beliefs and Interests
In my personal life, I am married and a mom of two elementary school aged children. I enjoy being outside in nature, painting, and reading. I love to travel and experience new things, and I have found that physical exercise, specifically jogging and yoga, and a structured sleep schedule are some of the most impactful ways I manage my own mental health. I am a lifelong learner whether honing my career skills or just feeding my curious mind. I find fulfillment in walking alongside others as they find their personal path and improve their quality of life.
