About My Clients
I have worked with adult men and women in the field of substance use for 16 years in a variety of clinical settings and levels of care (i.e. – individual, family, couples, intensive outpatient programming, correctional settings). Currently, I provide individual and couples/family substance use counseling to adults at various stage of life who are interested in exploring and shifting the role substances have played in their lives. I incorporate a holistic and cognitive-behavioral approach.
My Background and Approach
My training as a yoga teacher also allows me to refer my clients to engage with a variety of holistic approaches that may compliment the therapeutic process. In our working relationship you could expect transparent and direct communication and a treatment approach that respects your inherent dignity and worth. Additionally, I use treatment interventions such as EMDR and Cognitive Processing Therapy to help explore underlying grief or trauma that has contributed to use of substances as a coping mechanism.
My Personal Beliefs and Interests
Respecting your inherent dignity and worth is the crux of our working relationship as I help you work towards your identified goals.
