Many people with adjustment disorders find treatment helpful. Some find brief therapy to be sufficient. Others, including those with persistent adjustment complications or ongoing stressors, may benefit from longer treatment. Counseling for adjustment disorders includes psychotherapy, medications, or both. Therapy includes providing emotional support, helping you get back to your normal routine, and a focus on stress management and coping skills to make the adjustment less impactful.

Together, we will work to reduce your anxiety symptoms. Cognitive-behavioral therapy is the most effective form of psychotherapy for most anxieties but we also need to understand your history and past experiences with anxiety to determine a path to healing. We will also learn specific skills to directly manage your worries and help you gradually return to the activities you've avoided because of anxiety. Symptoms improve as we build on successes.

Together we will adjust to your crisis or long-term difficulty, utilize Cognitive behavioral therapy to identify unhelpful thoughts and identify issues exacerbating the issue, explore relationships and experiences that have contributed to your current issues while increasing positive relationships, learn better ways of coping, set goals and increase satisfaction with your life.
