About My Clients
You may have tried therapy before and found it helpful for a while, but not enough. At Plum BHS we work with adults who struggle with intense emotions, BPD, self-harm, and chronic dysregulation, as well as adults on the opposite end: perfectionists and high-achievers who cope by overcontrolling, shutting down, or feeling chronically empty despite doing everything right. If either sounds like you, we would like to talk.
My Background and Approach
I am a Licensed Clinical Social Worker and Licensed Professional Clinical Counselor with over ten years of experience specializing in Dialectical Behavior Therapy and Radically Open DBT. I founded Plum Behavioral Health Services to provide structured, evidence-based DBT and RO-DBT programs via telehealth to adults across five states. My approach, which I call Relational DBT, goes beyond skills delivery. I integrate neuroscience-informed psychoeducation, genuine therapeutic engagement, and evidence-based structure to create treatment that is both rigorous and human. I believe the therapeutic relationship itself is a core mechanism of change, not just a vehicle for delivering techniques. Plum BHS offers full DBT programs including individual therapy, skills training groups, and phone coaching, as well as complete RO-DBT programs for overcontrolled presentations.
My Personal Beliefs and Interests
I believe people are doing the best they can with the skills and experiences they have, and that change becomes possible when we build new skills alongside deeper understanding. I also believe growth requires accountability. Both can be true. Emotions are not problems to eliminate, but signals to understand. When people learn to respond rather than react, their relationships and sense of self begin to shift. I value honesty and aim to be direct, compassionate, and real. Therapy is an active process where we work toward meaningful change. I believe relationships are central to well-being, including the one you have with yourself. My work focuses on helping people build stable, respectful, values-aligned relationships. I am committed to helping people move toward independence, self-sufficiency, and a life that feels worth living, using evidence-based approaches delivered in a human and flexible way.
