About My Clients
My clients are individual adults and couples with sexual issues and/or relationship problems. We'll work well together if you are ready to 1) learn about yourself and your relationships and 2) do the work to try things a little differently (even when it's difficult!). Most people come to therapy with a sexual problem that's distressing and/or relationship conflict that keeps. happening. the. same. way--they're not sure what to do next. You'll get thoughtful support and guidance with me.
My Background and Approach
I'm a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist (LMFT) and sex therapist. I have advanced training and experience in sex therapy through the University of Michigan's Sexual Health Certificate Program (SHCP). Through my work, I hope to empower my clients with knowledge, insight, and tangible strategies they can use to improve their relationships, mental health, and sexual health. I believe that all people and all types of relationships can benefit from medically accurate information, a non-judgmental and sex-positive approach, and a space to learn and better understand current struggles from multiple angles.
My Personal Beliefs and Interests
Gosh, it's difficult to *try* to be a neutral therapist (and human) these days. Therapy is about YOU, but it's important to me that you know where I stand on a few foundational things. I'm disappointed that our culture and society hasn't set us up for success with poor sexual education and poor relationship education. I'm all about providing you with resources and information. I believe that reproductive rights being stripped away with the SCOTUS decision and fall of Roe will have dangerous and harmful effects for women, uterus-owners, LGBTQIA+ and BIPOC people, and members of marginalized groups. Your privacy, confidentiality, safety, bodily autonomy, and right to make choices for yourself will always be my priority in our work together. I am always learning and open to feedback, and work hard to provide collaborative, culturally-sensitive, anti-racist therapy. We're all human here, and therapy is ultimately about building a good-fit relationship where you can trust your therapist.
