About My Clients

We queer folx move through society differently than cis-het folx, and that comes with both difficulty and a whole lot of beauty. I strive to create the most safe, affirming, and empowering space possible, where you feel comfortable bringing in and exploring your genuine, truest self. My aim is for our work together to lead to a deeper sense of connection with yourself and others, as well as with more choice and freedom in how you live.

My Background and Approach

I will meet you where you are, and we will work together to help you to live your most authentic and fulfilling life. I will be a steady source of support on our journey together. You are the expert on you, so while we look at the map together and explore the many options, you choose our directions. My approach to therapy is insight-oriented, laid back, compassionate, and warm. I believe that our past creates the lens through which we see the world, including our relationship with those around us. Gaining insight into these lenses and our patterns can allow us greater choice and freedom in our present and future. In examining how your past has impacted the way you view others and interact in relationships, I use the relationship between you and I as a vehicle for change. My aim is to create a corrective experience for you and create a space where you can try out different ways of being and interacting.

My Personal Beliefs and Interests

I identify as a white, queer, cisgender woman. I recognize that the identities that we hold impact the way in which we navigate the world. Often, people are capable of much more than we settle for, and society can stifle our ability to live up to this potential. In taking this into consideration, I endeavor to empower you and help you to work toward your potential and happiness. My clinical work has been heavily influenced by my social justice and anti-oppression values. I seek to empower my clients by exploring how dynamics of power, privilege, and oppression have shaped their lives and/or resulted in trauma. I am on an un-ending journey to do better and be better for my clients, both personally and as a therapist. I strive for cultural humility and to provide the most culturally-responsive services. I am part of the clinical team at the Aguirre Center for Inclusive Psychotherapy, which specializes in providing anti-oppressive services. Let's get a free phone consultation scheduled!
