About My Clients
I enjoy helping people through many different issues however, I have a particular passion and interest for working with adults diagnosed ADHD, anxiety, and OCD; as well as navigating life's transitions, questions of meaning and purpose, and interpersonal Issues.
My Background and Approach
I understand that each person is different so I draw from many different psychological approaches to meet the individual needs of those I work with. However, the number one indicator for success in therapy is the therapeutic relationship. For me the most important thing is that those I work with feel safe, cared for, and understood. I seek to provide a comfortable space for clients to explore their thoughts, feelings, and behaviors without fear of judgment. I take a collaborative approach however, I believe that the client knows themselves the best and with some support has the ability to identify what they want and how they can get there.
My Personal Beliefs and Interests
I believe that every "problem" is actually a message that something needs to be looked at and change. The are reasons we behave and think the way that we do and they are coping mechanisms we developed to deal with life. Often when people seek help they realize that these coping mechanism are no longer serving them and maybe even harming them and their relationships. I believe with increased self awareness and acceptance of who we are then we are able to change. We then no longer need these coping mechanisms that we needed to use to protect ourselves.
