About My Clients

My clients are looking for results-oriented, supportive, culturally affirming, and compassionate treatment to improve their mental health and quality of life. They seek to create balance and safety in their life, discover insights, harness their strengths, and make the needed changes to get the meaningful results they want to see. I offer my clients ready-to-use tools to empower themselves to grow and thrive.

My Background and Approach

I am passionate about my work and enjoy offering my clients ready-to-use skills to self-regulate, find inner peace, build healthy relationships, act in compassionate ways towards themselves and others, and orient themselves to their ultimate path of long-term wellbeing. I specialize in evidence-based (research-based) modalities and culturally conscious practices for adults with anxiety, depression, insomnia, anger issues, trauma, and substance addiction. I received my Doctorate in Clinical Psychology from the Graduate School of Applied and Professional Psychology at Rutgers University in New Jersey, with a Concentration in Multicultural Psychology. My two primary treatment methods are Cognitive-Behavioral Therapy (CBT) and Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT). I also integrate wisdom from other therapeutic approaches including Motivational Interviewing (MI), and psychodynamic, attachment-based, humanistic, existential, and mindfulness-based psychotherapy.

My Personal Beliefs and Interests

I am a Latina-identified woman who has grown up in Los Angeles and traverses the bicultural landscape of fourth-generation Mexican ancestry in the United States. I understand how our cultural identity and ancestry help us understand who we are and where we are going. I am an advocate for breaking the stigma that parts of our society still have regarding mental health care and truly believe that mental health is health and an act of resistance against oppression and hate. Caring for our mental health is necessary for true whole-person and community wellness and is one of the most loving acts we can do for ourselves and the world.
