About My Clients

You don't have to have everything figured out to begin. The clients we work with are people ready for the deeper work, beyond just managing symptoms. They come navigating trauma, anxiety, depression, ADHD, identity, relationship patterns, and the complexities of a creative life. Many are first-generation, queer, neurodivergent, or carrying something they've never had room to feel. They want a space that can hold both the weight of what they bring and the possibility of what they're building.

My Background and Approach

The work is trauma-informed and depth-oriented, drawing from psychodynamic and attachment-based frameworks, with EMDR available when helpful for trauma processing. Christina Lucey-Ventura, MA, LMFT (#132522), founded the practice in Echo Park, Los Angeles. Her background includes years in creative practice and cultural study before becoming a therapist. That shapes how the work happens here: curious, nuanced, attuned to context. We don't pathologize. We work with the whole person, including the parts that have waited a long time to be heard. Fully LGBTQIA+ affirming, ADHD-informed, and experienced with the shape of trauma in creative and immigrant communities. Sessions are 50 minutes. The work moves at the pace of the client's nervous system, not a treatment plan. The first conversation is a free 15-min consult with no commitment, so both sides can feel whether this is a fit. In-person in Echo Park. Telehealth throughout California.

My Personal Beliefs and Interests

Healing is collaborative, not hierarchical. The body knows things the mind hasn't named yet, and good therapy listens to both. Identity is part of context, not the explanation for distress. Affirming therapy means more than competent vocabulary. We're drawn to the places where depth psychology, cultural inheritance, and creative practice meet. We're particularly attuned to the work of carrying multiple identities at once: being third-generation, queer, neurodivergent, an artist in a culture that doesn't always make room for any of those things. LGBTQIA+ rights are non-negotiable. Reproductive freedom is healthcare. People deserve to be seen in the full complexity of who they are. Christina is a reader, a maker, and someone learning to take her own advice about rest.
