About My Clients
I work with adolescents and adults and I specialize in depression, anxiety, life and/or relationship stress and challenges, women's life experiences and issues, grief and loss, and trauma. My goal is to help you navigate life and the things that have shaped it in creative and personalized ways, and to help you develop skills and strategies to improve how you feel and have a more hopeful outlook on life.
My Background and Approach
I am a licensed independent clinical social worker and have been providing therapy in many different settings for over 20 years. My approach is tailored to each person's needs, and often includes elements of Cognitive Behavioral Therapy to address thought patterns, mindful awareness and somatic approaches to help people be more present and increase their mind-body awareness, solution-focused approaches to envision where a person wants to go in the therapy journey, and incorporates one's interests in art, nature, music, writing and more to help accomplish therapy and life goals. I work with clients to create a path forward that is specific and reasonable for each person. When I work with individuals who have experienced trauma, I offer advanced trauma therapy techniques, including EMDR therapy, to help each person overcome these life events and heal in the best ways possible.
My Personal Beliefs and Interests
It is important to me to create an environment where people feel safe, comfortable, and are able to be themselves and be open about what is troubling them. I focus on providing a calm, supportive, and empathetic space and maintain a conversational approach to put others at ease. I listen to understand and without judgment, no matter what someone has been through or done. Laughter can also be a wonderful tool when appropriate, and I love to help my clients find not only their voices but also find their joy again.
