About My Clients
I support school age children, teens and young adults with anxiety, behavioral challenges, school or social issues, family changes, and self esteem. I also work with children and adults with autism and ADHD on sensory and emotion regulation, executive functioning, self advocacy, self esteem, and burnout. Together we will build insight, resilience, and the skills needed to support positive and meaningful change.
My Background and Approach
I have nearly 10 years of experience helping children navigate life’s challenges. I combine play-based and evidence-informed techniques to foster emotional growth, self-expression, and healthy coping in a supportive, child-focused environment. My approach is play-based and flexible, aiming to help your child feel safe and comfortable. I also have extensive professional and personal experience with neurodiverse individuals. I have worked at an agency supporting individuals with developmental disabilities for nearly 5 years, and I grew up in a neurodiverse family. I aim to create a respectful, affirming space where you feel empowered and supported.
My Personal Beliefs and Interests
Growing up in a neurodiverse household, I have witnessed the low self-esteem and trauma that often results from therapists and educators following the “traditional” medical view of disability, viewing disability as something to be fixed. I believe that neurodiversity is a natural and valuable part of human diversity. Each person’s neurological makeup shapes their unique perspective, strengths, and ways of experiencing the world. I also know how frustrating it is when your loved one is talked down to, ignored, and underestimated by professionals. I am committed to providing care that is affirming, respectful, and tailored to the needs of neurodivergent individuals. My approach emphasizes understanding, empowerment, and collaboration, always assuming competence. I aim to create a space where clients feel seen, validated, and supported in exploring strategies that are helpful and that feel right for them.
