About My Clients
I work with clients who are navigating relational difficulties such as attachment trauma, adoption, and experiencing the foster care system. I use a trauma-focused, attachment-based approach to help children, teens, and adults find healing. My clients come with anxiety, depression, low self-worth, confusion, and difficult family relationships. I seek to empower my clients to connect with their authentic selves and their community.
My Background and Approach
I seek to create an open, safe space for others to truly feel comfortable exploring their struggles, their hopes and themselves. Using the healing power of connection and community, I believe the therapeutic relationship can be one that facilitates self-growth, resiliency, and empowerment of one's authentic self. My practice is rooted in a celebration of differences, awareness of the impact of trauma in our day-to-day experiences, and an understanding of the role relationships play in our lives. Our sessions can involve traditional talk therapy, expressive/creative interventions, mindfulness techniques, therapeutic play, and Eye Movement Desensitization Reprocessing (EMDR) therapy. I collaborate with clients to identify which therapeutic experience is most effective for them as we work together.
My Personal Beliefs and Interests
I believe that everyone has a unique experience that guides their relationship with themselves, their community, and the world. In my experience, approaching the world through the lens of curiosity, love, and openness can facilitate resilience, growth, and empowerment. This belief drives my work as a counselor. I seek to meet people where they are, explore their world with them, and help them to identify steps they can take to make meaningful changes in their lives.
