About My Clients
I love working with folks seeking to recover from intense emotions and childhood trauma including those with anxiety, depression, borderline personality disorder, and highly sensitive people. My approach is all about understanding and affirming your story while helping to teach skills and thinking patterns to better cope with difficult emotions, triggers, and strained relationships in your life.
My Background and Approach
I've worked in the mental health field with serious mental illness and substance use for 15+ years. Over the past decade, I received my therapy license and received training in mindfulness meditation/relaxation, Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), and trauma-informed care. I find that many of my clients benefit from learning ways to improve the ways they relate to the world through mindfulness and relaxation, skill use from DBT, and simply understanding the impact of past trauma in their lives.
My Personal Beliefs and Interests
Some of the populations and causes I feel strongly about are artists, small business owners, those in helping and human services professions, and single mothers. I feel that artists, small business owners, and helpers do important work to help challenge social norms of discrimination and wealth disparities. I also feel strongly about supporting single mothers as this can be a thankless and difficult role in society but also a very important one. I try to find ways to support these communities through offering sliding scale to members and getting involved in activism regarding these groups when able.
