My Background and Approach
My approach is collaborative and compassionate. I will be interested in your current life, experiences and memories from your past, hopes for the future, and the relationship that develops between you and me. Through the unique therapeutic dynamic and by exploring your internal experience, you will gain a sense of clarity, awareness, and insight. We work to make sense of it all so you can understand yourself and take the risks necessary for growth. Know how to cope with and overcome life’s challenges. I have benefited from some of the best training rooted in neuroscience by top thought leaders in the field: Stanford Medicine's CCARE (The Center for Compassion and Altruism Research and Education), Stan Tatkin (PACT), Interpersonal Neurobiology with Dan Siegel, and Mindful Schools. I have extensive experience in grief and loss counseling.
My Personal Beliefs and Interests
Too many people emerge from experiences of trauma or wounds from childhood. Parental loss, divorce, abuse, or neglect. The aftermath of these is devastating, despite success and "looking good." Revealing the pain to another person and revising basic assumptions about yourself and others in a safe relationship can be transformative.
