While depression absolutely effects our emotions, it is not something that exists only in our head. We experience depression emotionally, physically, and relationally. I enjoy working with clients to explore root causes of depression and ways to decrease the suffering that comes from it. We all deserve to feel like our true selves, and not held back by depression.

Anxiety exists for all of us - it is a helpful function to keep us safe when danger is present. The problem is when we feel anxiety when real threats aren't present. We all can benefit from learning to challenge anxious thinking and focusing more on the present moment to decrease our suffering.

I have experience working with adolescents on a variety of issues including anxiety, depression, substance use, identity, family conflict, and peer conflict. Adolescents often struggle finding their place in the world. Teens can create their own values and identities, but those aren't always respected by those around them. This leads to negative feelings and behaviors that could be creating more problems for them. I love working with teens to build respect and resiliency in their lives.
