About My Clients

I tend to work with dreamers, creators, nurturers, and changemakers with varied identities across race, ethnicity, gender, sexual orientation, and age - as individuals or in couples. I have experience working with anxiety, mood states, relationship and attachment issues, trauma and complex trauma, transitions, grief and loss, and altered states of reality/psychosis.

My Background and Approach

Relational work has been my calling. In response, I forged my own path through the economic justice and counseling psychology fields and through system-oriented and people-centered approaches. For the past three decades, I have stitched together a quilt of eclectic but connected experiences related to personal and collective well-being and liberation. Presently, I am a therapist to individuals and couples, where I use depth psychology to explore their past and present and personal and political parallels, facilitating their transformative work. Informed by being trauma-informed and systems-oriented, I bring deep listening and genuine curiosity to therapy. I use an intersectionality framework to understand how people show up and how systems work and shape their experiences. I work with diverse people and couples who are looking for more meaning and alignment with their own values and stories; people and couples who are seeking more connection to themselves and others.

My Personal Beliefs and Interests

Having worked decades in economic justice, I hold that the systems people move through, such as racialized capitalism, are traumatic for all, but much more so for people who have been racialized or marginalized by our dominant systems. Trauma disrupts someone’s story of safety, power, and more. It is impossible for me to separate psyches and systems in therapy. People are living with and inside of multiple personal and systemic stories from the past/present and near/far. In therapy, we’ll acknowledge, appreciate, and explore your multiple, fluid identities and how different structures have shaped and impacted your experiences. A lot to hold on one’s own, we’ll sort through your stories - reclaiming who you are, where you’ve been, what happened to you, where you’re going, and how you relate to the world around you.
