I work with individuals and create treatment plans aimed to reduce anxiety, find clarity in the present moment, increase peace of mind, and reduce vulnerabilities to stressors. By calming racing thoughts and reducing panic, you can learn to respond to a situation and reduce your tendencies to react. I utilize creative art expression, DBT tools of emotion regulation, and mindfulness-based practices.

Grief is a complicated emotion that can result from the loss anything that has been constant in your life. You may be grieving a loved one, career or daily routine. Accepting grief can be a beautiful process of recognizing and naming emotions. My experience with grief includes working with families and individuals of victims of 9/11. Art therapy can be a particularly impacting tool in grief process as it allows for expression through images and not only words.

I am nationally board certified and hold New York State license in art therapy. I received my masters at New York University. I have been supervised for 10 years during my practice. My scope of practice includes homeless shelters and outpatient clinics working with young adults and adults. I have worked with populations struggling with substance abuse disorders, psychotic disorders, PTSD, mood disorders and personality disorders.

I have attended and completed Dialectical Behavioral Therapy (DBT) Intensive Training with Megan Dunston, LCMHC. In addition, I consult as an art therapist in an intensive outpatient program based in DBT working with adults in early recovery.

I am an active participant in my community; I attend meditation sits, mindful movement and yoga. I have led meditation groups, guided imagery groups, and other intention based practices.
