About My Clients
I frequently work with adults and college students ages 18+ who are struggling with anxiety, depression, relationship difficulties, grief, perfectionism, and distress related to family and life transitions. I work with adults of all genders, sexualities, and socioeconomic, racial, and cultural backgrounds via virtual, office, and walk and talk sessions.
My Background and Approach
I can help you learn and practice skills to respond to uncomfortable thoughts and emotions in a new way, build healthier relationships, and take steps toward living out what is most important to you. I bring my compassion, ask a lot of questions, and am not afraid to "sit in the mud" with you. In addition to over 7 years of clinical work, I completed postgraduate training at The Ackerman Institute for the Family. I also utilize my training in Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT) to support clients with anxiety and depression. I also uniquely offer walk and talk sessions for clients. Walk and Talk Therapy can be especially helpful for those who: spend the majority of your day sitting, struggle to feel comfortable opening up when making direct eye contact, spend the majority of your day inside, struggle to sit still, feel confined in the traditional therapist office setting, and/or want to embody forward movement and getting "unstuck." My Personal Beliefs and Interests
I am queer and racial justice allied and often approach the work from a systems lens--meaning I take individual factors, patterns of interaction, beliefs, family history, the life cycle, markers of social location (gender, class, religion, race, sexual orientation, culture), larger systems (neighborhood, community, schools, religious institutions, government, systems of belonging), and sociopolitical/social stressors (political climate, power/privilege, systems of oppression, environment, immigration, etc) into consideration. I don't see you in a vacuum. I see you and the tapestry we are a part of.
