About My Clients
People come to therapy when something feels difficult to navigate—whether that's grief, trauma, anxiety, a relationship, or a significant change in their lives. I work with individuals and couples who want to better understand their experiences, feel less reactive and more grounded, and reconnect with their own sense of direction. The therapy process can offer practical tools to help calm the mind and body while also finding greater clarity around values and meaning.
My Background and Approach
My path to becoming a therapist was shaped by both personal experience and a curiosity about people, culture, and the stories we live by. I studied cultural anthropology and spent several years pursuing creative work in New York and Los Angeles before a significant loss in my own life led me toward grief work and, eventually, a master’s degree in psychology. My training includes Narrative Therapy, EMDR, Sensorimotor Psychotherapy, Emotionally Focused Couples Therapy, grief and bereavement, human sexuality and sex therapy, and mindfulness-based approaches. I am particularly interested in how our experiences shape the way we relate to ourselves and others, and how therapy can help us develop greater understanding, connection, and choice. I am licensed as a Marriage and Family Therapist in both Oregon and California and work with clients throughout both states.
My Personal Beliefs and Interests
I see people as complex, capable, and continually shaped by the worlds around them. None of us exists outside of our relationships, culture, history, or circumstances, and these influences can affect how we understand ourselves and what we imagine is possible. I value curiosity over judgment and try to hold space for the many, sometimes contradictory, parts of being human. I also think there is something powerful about being genuinely seen and understood, and that meaningful change often begins with connection—to ourselves, to others, and to what matters most.
