About My Clients
I work with clients on just about any concern that you may have and the changes that you might want to make. Some areas where I have the most experience are depression, anxiety, grief and loss, and substance use.
My Background and Approach
I am solution focused and person centered in session. I have advanced training in Motivational Interviewing, and I utilize this approach in conjunction Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Narrative Therapy, Mindfulness, and Rational Emotive behavioral Therapy. I consider myself to be multimodal for your benefit. I hope to serve as a guide rather than presenting as an expert while we make the changes that move you toward new ways of thinking, doing, and feeling. I am happy to incorporate spirituality into your therapy.
My Personal Beliefs and Interests
Empathy and compassion are important to me. I want you to feel heard in session. All clients should have a voice and a safe space to process the changes that they want to make. I believe in being available and working with you to find a convenient time for your sessions. I recognize that many people deal with the pressures of life and making it to your therapy session doesn't need to feel stressful. Therapy is a collaborative approach and we will work together to identify your goals and your focus in session. I want clients to make progress in as few sessions as possible and then apply the coping mechanisms you have developed to your continued growth.
