My Background and Approach
My training was in Transpersonal Counseling, which values the whole person: your thoughts, beliefs, and emotions, and your physical, social and spiritual wellness. Living in many cultures has taught me that there are many ways to see things and rarely one "right" way to be. I am supportive, encouraging and non-judgmental. I am certified by WPATH, the World Professional Association for Transgender Health and have worked with several dozen transgender clients.
My Personal Beliefs and Interests
I volunteer with PFLAG and am a member of HRC and Equality Virginia. I believe passionately that diversity benefits us all and I relish getting to know all kinds of people. I believe in science AND I believe in magic. I believe we can each become just about anything we want, and that the most important step towards that is to accept ourselves as we are now.
