About My Clients
I provide counseling to clients 13 and up who are navigating depression, anxiety, adjustment issues, trauma, and stress. I have a passion for helping young adults adjust to difficult transitional periods in their lives. Having received counseling in the past myself, I know how difficult it can be to ask for help. I believe building a good relationship between therapist and client, along with concrete strategies, helps recovery. I also have specialized experience with pain issues and brain injury
My Background and Approach
I have a master's degree in Rehabilitation Counseling from the University of Texas Southwestern Medical Center. My approach is to build a good therapeutic relationship along with concrete strategies to help set people back on the road to recovery. I have experience working in facilities specializing in people with chronic illness including pain and traumatic brain injury. I work with clients ages 13 and up, with a passion for helping adolescents and young adults adjust to difficult transitional periods in their lives. This includes self-esteem issues, conflicts, career difficulties, communication issues, and difficulty with interpersonal relationships. I support clients through the difficult issues that can arise in developing their identity and discovering what they want out of life.
My Personal Beliefs and Interests
Growing up is already hard enough without all of today’s educational, technological, and social stress. I care about helping adolescents and young adults work through life’s challenges without fear of judgment. Adults aren’t the only ones who experience anxiety and depression, and I believe no one should have to face those struggles alone.
