About My Clients
You're exhausted from being "the strong one" in your relationships, with your family, and at work. This leaves you feeling angry, stuck, and self-critical. Through therapy my clients share they have a stronger sense of agency and can give themselves permission to: create space to pause, listen to, and communicate their needs; express grief that has been silenced, misunderstood, and denied; and slow down to make space for practices that facilitate creativity, rest, and joy.
My Background and Approach
I am a relational and process-oriented therapist that helps you attune to your emotions, needs, and boundaries so that you can feel more connected to yourself, your relationships, and your creativity. I take into account how cultural and familial expectations, relationship dynamics, historical issues, and systemic issues influence the stressors we experience and how we cope. My role is to collaborate with you, meet you where you are, and challenge you to gain insight and awareness about the different parts of yourself. My Personal Beliefs and Interests
I believe how we show up in relationships and cope with difficult emotions and situations is influenced by how we learned to survive growing up in an imperfect and unjust world. What helped us navigate life before may no longer serve us anymore, and sometimes it feels difficult to show up differently. Through my own experience in therapy, I understand the importance of having one's identities and experiences with the world feel seen and heard. As a queer Filipino American therapist in my mid 30s, my own lived experiences with grief and loss due to intergenerational trauma and unexpected death brought me to this work.
