About My Clients
I work with individuals and couples navigating anxiety, burnout, stress, identity questions, grief, parenting, and major life transitions. You may be used to holding a lot on your own, or feel stuck, disconnected, or unsure of what comes next. I am especially interested in work and career pressure, neurodivergence and parenting, men’s issues, and LGBTQ+ concerns. With couples, I help slow down recurring patterns, understand what each person is needing, and build greater clarity and connection.
My Background and Approach
After 25 years in finance and tech, I returned to graduate school to become a counselor. I am completing my Master’s in Clinical Mental Health Counseling at Antioch University Seattle and provide therapy at Self Space under clinical supervision. My approach is person-centered, existential, and relational, with an integrative and humanistic lens. Sessions are collaborative, conversational, and active. I listen closely, ask questions, and help you notice patterns, understand what may be underneath your distress, and make meaning of what you are experiencing. With couples, we can look at the patterns that keep repeating, what each person is needing or protecting, and how to build greater understanding and connection. I will not hand you a formula, but I will not sit back silently either. We will work together with curiosity, honesty, and attention to what matters most to you.
My Personal Beliefs and Interests
I believe therapy works best when you can show up as a whole person rather than a set of symptoms. Anxiety, stress, conflict, and disconnection often make more sense when we understand them in the context of your relationships, identity, family, work, culture, and the larger systems around you. I also believe you are the expert on your own life. My role is not to tell you who to be or what choices to make, but to help create enough space, curiosity, and honesty to understand yourself more clearly and decide what you want next. I value dignity, agency, openness, and genuine human connection. I aim to offer an affirming space for people across identities, including LGBTQ+ clients, and to approach differences with humility rather than assumptions. Therapy can be practical, but it can also make room for larger questions about meaning, purpose, belonging, relationships, and how you want to live.
