About My Clients
Finding a space where your identity is fully understood is essential for meaningful therapeutic work. I work with people navigating the unique complexities of queer relationship dynamics, managing the toll of professional struggles or burnout, or seeking a better work/life balance. These things include sex and intimacy issues, social anxiety, loneliness and isolation, relationship conflict, trauma, depression or various other mental health diagnoses, as well as substance use and compulsions.
My Background and Approach
I provide an active, relational, and collaborative environment built on safety and understanding. After an initial assessment, I use an unstructured approach based in psychoanalytic theory and technique as a framework, and incorporate other elements as needed or useful, such as mindfulness, cognitive, behavioral, or other interventions. We will work together to unpack the behaviors, choices, and relational patterns holding you back. My approach honors the intersection of your personal identity, your relationships, and your passions and goals, and this means connecting your past and your present, and learning tools to manage in the meantime.
My Personal Beliefs and Interests
My belief is that patterns can be changed, relationships can be built and improved, and people can create new circumstances for themselves, which can change their lives. Our patterns of thinking and relating all started as adaptations, because that is what humans do to survive in a family and a given community, but that doesn't mean that those patterns have to remain throughout life. We can all learn and grow.
