About My Clients
My specialty is working with couples and adults dealing with a variety of issues related to sex and relationships, including sexual anxiety, communication, infidelity, relationship strengthening, conflict resolution, sexual difficulties (including erectile dysfunction and other arousal issues), trauma, parenting (including co-parenting), divorce, and more.
My Background and Approach
I have a Master's in Marriage and Family Therapy, as well as a certification in Clinical Sexology. I also have personal experience with religious trauma, which can greatly impact one's relationship with sex. I believe that a relationship of comfort, trust, and genuine interest between you and me is vital to working on any issue. I also believe that your behavior or way of thinking can be best understood in the context of your past and current circumstances. I try to thoroughly understand my patients and then help them to develop tools they can use to better manage life’s challenges. I believe that partners and family members can overcome most difficulties by taking the time to truly understand each other’s needs and wants.
My Personal Beliefs and Interests
I consider myself rather progressive. I am a heterosexual male, and I wholeheartedly support the LGBTQ+ community. I also have a lot of experience working with folks with all kinds of sexual backgrounds and tastes, including Ethical Non-Monogamy. The gold standard I espouse when it comes to sex is that consent is the most important thing. If you're respectful and mindful of consent (with, of course, the age of consent being 18), there's nothing wrong with what or whom you're into sexually. I believe that every case is unique and I can learn just as much from my patients as they learn from me. Thus, I try to remain sufficiently flexible in my approach so that the path forward does not feel predetermined. Please note I do not take insurance.
