About My Clients

I tend to work with clients with a broad range of presenting concerns, though many are a part of the LGBTQ+ community and/or people of color. I often call myself a root puller--the clients that feel most supported by me are willing to carefully and intentionally approach the core of what negatively impact their lives, even when it feels uncertain or scary. Whether that's due to anxiety, trauma, identity concerns, or feeling like you don't belong, I'm here to support you as you find healing.

My Background and Approach

With over 13 years of clinical experience, my goal as a therapist is to help my clients feel more aligned and true to who they want to be in the world. I believe that deep down you know what's best for you, and I'm here to help sift through all of the difficult and painful messages and experiences that get in the way of you living that truth. I use an integrative approach based in relational, parts work, and empowerment based theories to collaboratively support my clients. I additionally integrate ACT, DBT and EMDR approaches when fitting to my client's needs. I tend to lead with warmth and curiosity and a sense that all of my clients are worthy people from the start. If you're feeling constantly overwhelmed, struggling to see your own worth, or feeling stuck in patterns of fear and trauma, my hope is to be alongside you as we work together to bring you peace, empowerment, self-acceptance, and new ways to see yourself and the world.

My Personal Beliefs and Interests

I believe that we are born inherently good and fully worthy, full stop. I also believe we live in a world full of systems and perspectives that quickly obscure this reality, and try to make us believe that we aren't loveable, good, worthy, or enough. I see that this process happens at even higher frequencies for those from under-represented communities, whether Black, Trans, poor, disabled, or neuro-diverse (for example). As a black, queer, fem womxn, I became a psychologist for a number of reasons. I'm here because I didn't see many therapists who looked like me, or came from an underprivileged background like I did. I'm here because I want to be the therapist that I believe my communities deserves: someone who is compassionate, warm, and willing to always grow for the better of myself and my clients. I'm here because I believe that I can help create change in underprivileged communities by using the power I have as a psychologist to advocate for my clients.
