About My Clients
You may understand yourself well yet feel caught in patterns you can’t seem to change. Outwardly capable, you might be struggling with anxiety, disconnection, or the sense that the life you’ve built no longer fits. I work with thoughtful adults navigating trauma, identity, ambition, and major transitions, and couples facing recurring conflict, lost intimacy, or ruptures in trust. My patients want greater freedom, deeper connection, and change they can feel in daily life.
My Background and Approach
My style is warm, direct, and engaged. I’ll ask questions, share what I notice, and help you work with moments when you shut down, become overwhelmed, or lose touch with what you need. We’ll explore how those responses developed and work with them as they arise in your life and between us. I combine relational and psychodynamic therapy with attention to emotion and the body, using EMDR when appropriate. We might slow down an automatic reaction, process a difficult experience, or practice expressing something you usually hold back. With couples, I help you recognize recurring cycles, understand what each person is protecting, and practice taking responsibility and repairing hurt. I spent 15 years in leadership roles across finance, nonprofit, and technology, and I bring that understanding of the pressure to keep performing while struggling privately to my work. Our aim is for what changes in therapy to carry into how you live and relate.
My Personal Beliefs and Interests
I believe people can grow and change throughout their lives. Many of the patterns that cause pain began as ways to stay safe or preserve connection. Approaching those patterns with curiosity and compassion can soften shame and make change possible. I value honesty, complexity, and the freedom to discover what feels true to you. You can love someone and feel angry with them, be grateful for your life and want something different, or feel capable and still need support. There is room for all of that in therapy. I believe close relationships can hold both connection and individuality. Your needs, limits, and desires belong alongside your care for others. A meaningful life is personal, and I’m interested in what matters to you beyond achievement or other people’s expectations. Therapy should be a place where you can question, disagree, and say what feels difficult, while building greater trust in your own experience.
