About My Clients
Are you looking for a therapist that understands the challenge of navigating the system and interpersonal communication due to your status as a BIPOC, immigrant, and other marginalized identities? Are you anxious and feel less competent than your peers due to your identities and language? Or you are hoping to address issues that are stemmed from your family of origin, childhood trauma, other traumatic experiences, romantic relationship, and other interpersonal relationships?
My Background and Approach
I have lived in cross-cultural and cross-continental experiences which shaped how I see the world around me and have made me more mindful of the privilege that I do and do not have. As I do my work, I continuously reflect on both implicit and explicit biases so I can better serve my client, which is important to me as an Asian trauma-informed therapist who has a passion in working with BIPOC, immigrant, and marginalized communities. I have training and experience working with trauma, anxiety, depression, interpersonal relationships, and life transition using social justice and cultural mindfulness. I utilize a variety of approaches to meet the individual needs of my clients, including, but not limited to, cognitive behavior therapy, narrative exposure therapy, EMDR, trauma systems, internal family systems, attachment theory, acceptance and commitment therapy, and experiential techniques including mindfulness and awareness strategies.
