About My Clients
My primary clinical interest is mental health issues in blue collar men. I have a strong personal connection to this community, as both my father and my partner are blue-collar workers. This has given me an appreciation of the unique stressors tradesmen face—challenges that are often overlooked in conversations about mental health. Outside my clinical interest, I welcome all clients, regardless of what brings them to therapy. Each person's therapeutic experience should be unique to them.
My Background and Approach
Therapy can feel intimidating, especially if it's your first experience. My goal is to provide a warm, welcoming, and judgment-free space where you can explore your unique life experiences and challenges. I approach each session with curiosity and openness, valuing your perspective and story. My style is client-centered, which means I prioritize your autonomy and choices. Together, we can explore the potential outcomes of decisions and navigate what feels right for you. Ultimately, what matters most is discovering what you want for your life, and I am here to support you in that journey. I graduated from the University of Iowa with high distinction with a Bachelor of Science in Psychology and completed a master's degree in Marriage and Family Therapy from Mount Mercy University. Through my studies and various community-based positions, I learned I wanted to help people lead meaningful, fulfilled lives.
