About My Clients

Whether past trauma or anxiety is affecting your day-to-day life, you no longer want to feel like a slave to substances, or you’re just ready to invest in your health in a new way, this is the place for you. You may feel controlled by your emotions with deep-rooted pain, shame, unmet needs, or abandonment at the core of your experience. By learning to understand yourself better – to no longer avoid or resist the way you are but instead embrace it, you can find freedom.

My Background and Approach

Human First, Therapist Second. I show up in therapy as a human, just like you, because I have been down the dark, scary road that you are on now. I have long struggled with Anxiety Disorder, Trauma, lost family to the disease, and know grief intimately. My pain gifted me the passion for helping others. My therapy and education gifted me the tools to do just that. Every day, I am honored to work with brave, courageous individuals who show up for themselves despite the fear. I am a Masters Level Clinical Addiction Specialist and Certified Clinical Trauma Specialist – Individual (CCTS-I) that has been specializing in the field of mental health since 2016 and has a deep understanding of the connection between addiction and trauma. Building a solid therapeutic relationship with my clients is essential, which is the basis for our work. I strive to be a therapist that is mindful, compassionate, and nonjudgmental. My clients say I’m empathetic, intuitive, and one hell of a hype woman.

My Personal Beliefs and Interests

When I am not working with fierce, courageous individuals like yourself, I stay involved in many activities. I soak up precious moments with my daughter, keep my nose perpetually stuck in a book, volunteer on the board of a local sober living organization, and spend time in nature. I am a former elementary school teacher turned therapist who still jumps at the opportunity to educate and bring awareness about mental health and SUD to communities to decrease stigma. I have had a chance to guest lecture at Indiana University, but I still bleed black and gold – Boiler UP!
