About My Clients
I offer HIPPA compliant telehealth sessions (video or text). My specialty is working with people in non-monogamous relationships, but I help clients with many issues. I am experienced in crisis intervention, working with anxiety, and depression. I have real life experience with LGBTQIA+ and consensual non-monogamy. I implement that experience into my counseling for those that need that extra support.
My Background and Approach
I received my BA in Psychology with a minor in Sociology from Clemson University in 2002. Following this, I received my MA in Professional Mental Health counseling from Webster University in 2007. I am licensed in the states of SC, MO, and GA (Licensed Professional Counselor – LPC). I am a registered telehealth provider for Florida as well. I have worked as a counselor for over 17 years and have done telehealth for the last 5 years. I am a person-centered therapist with an eclectic approach. I utilize tools from CBT and DBT to help you achieve your goals. Sometimes people just want someone to talk to and I'm here for that as well.
My Personal Beliefs and Interests
I believe a big reason we develop mental health issues is due to unhealthy learned behaviors. I believe that everyone is capable of growth and change if they desire it. Preventing the spread of COVID-19 is important to me. I am also a strong believer that animals are therapeutic (my goats make me laugh every day).
